Since support for the free version Red Hat ends at the end of April, isn't
it time to recommend Fedora or some other free distributions?

They don't recommend any distributions, just have mirrors for
Debian and Red Hat (and none for Fedora).

February 23, 2004: The Fedora mirror on mirrors.kernel.org is lagging behind
the master site. This is because of repeated synchronization failures with
that master site, unfortunately we have not been able to get in contact with
their staff to resolve the problem.
