Subject: git_linux addition ; genericity pls

Hi,

I know git's made for any kind of _big_ project out there but what about
having git_linux cmd or something to do all the stuff (create path, cloning,
download, readtree, checkout, make oldconf, make, export stuff ... ) ? I do
feel somekind of a regression in front of install_latest_kernel ease of
use.Did I miss something ?

cc pls :)

Regards,
FabF

cogito?

cg-clone \
rsync://rsync.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/linus/linux-2.6.git \
linux-2.6.git

cd linux-2.6
make menuconfig

See http://www.kernel.org/git for cogito pointers.

The cogito shell scripts don't buy you as much as they once did. For
example, the above procedure in raw git, is:

git clone
rsync://http://www.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git
linux-2.6

cd linux-2.6
make menuconfig
