Subject: [PATCH2 4/6] isicom: Pci probing added

Pci probing added

Pci probing functions added, most of functions rewrited because od it (some
for cycles are redundant).
Used PCI_DEVICE macro.

Generated in 2.6.14-rc2-mm2 kernel version

Other little changes

Move some code from one place to another.
Get rid of ugly ifdefs in code in next p[patches, so here create functions
and macros to enable it.
Rename some functions and align some code to 80 chars.

Generated in 2.6.14-rc2-mm2 kernel version

I am sorry but do you really consider the new form more readable?

And this?

And this?

Simply limiting line length to 80 is not enough IMHO, you need to
keep the code readable at the same time.

At the minimum you could break at the last comma and not in the middle
of expression.

You could also take that block of code and split it to isicom_tx(),
isicom_port_tx() and isicom_chunk_tx(). That would save you couple if
identation levels and allow you to keep the code readable within 80
columns.

Just out of curiosity - was it run through Lindent or reformatted by
hand? The thing is - it might be not readable at 80 columns but I
could expand my terminal and get a decent results. Now it may be
better at 80 columns but no level of resizing terminal will make it
better.

What is this "struct device" used for? You do not need it.

For all of your printk() calls, please use dev_dbg() or dev_warn() or
the other dev_* calls please.

Register the firmware request for when you see the device that needs it,
in your probe function, not in your module init function.

Hope this helps,

These don't need to be changed and base should in fact be unsigned long
for portability.

Ditto

tty buffers are specifically unsigned char
