Some comments below, please fix them and I'll queue it up in my net-2.6.15
git tree if Henner hasn't any problems with this, but I don't remember him
being active maintaining X.25 for quite a while :-)

Ah, and please post networking patches to the [email protected] in
the future.

Thanks,

X25_MAX_AE_LEN is 32, I suggest you use

why not:

copy_to_user(argp, x25->dte_facilities, sizeof(*x25->dte_facilities))

avoiding the extra struct copy to the stack?

Why don't you use fixed size members?
And we can eliminate 8bit hole.

struct x25_dte_facilities {
u32 calling_len
u32 called_len;
u8 calling_ae[20];
u8 called_ae[20];
u8 min_throughput;
u8 expedited;
u16 delay_cumul;
u16 delay_target;
u16 delay_max;
};

I guess the two above can be 'u8' as they refer to calling_ae and called_ae
that at most will be '20'?

At the very least put the 32-bit in the beginning and 8-bit stuff at
the end so natural alignment occurs where possible.

Thanks everyone for the feedback, will fix up the alignment.

A quick question on the use of u8 and u32 types in x25.h.

/usr/src/linux-2.6.13.4/include/linux/x25.h and
/usr/include/linux/x25.h
have been identical between the kernel and glibc-kernheaders type
packages, using u8 and u32 would require extra changes to the userspace
version.

__u32 or unsigned int look to be the norm for other similar headers,
whats the recommended type of types to be used?

Thanks,

Dunno if this helps, but AFAIK the C language (as of 1999 or is it 2000)
blesses uint32_t and friends.

Indeed, <linux/types.h> (in the kernel source tree) defines these
*standard* sized types.

Use __{u,s}{32,16,8} for interfaces and {u,s}{64,32,16,8} internally,
if you care about the exact size, otherwise use unsigned int.

Structure alignment corrected.

Adds options for ITU DTE facilities to X.25, called address extension and calling address extension
