ewwww.

I don't object to your patch, but I'm disappointed that megaraid doesn't
use the normal PCI probing mechanism.

It's on their TODO list I know. I've been pushing for that too.

struct pci_driver and struct pci_device_id. Docs in
Documentation/pci.txt under "new-style drivers".

Matt,
Can what is "normal PCI probing" mechanism.

Thanks

Is there any schedule changed into normal PCI probing mechanism?

I apologize, I do not understand the question. Would you be kind enough
to re-state another way, perhaps?

Thanks,

Jeff

I'm sorry.
Is there any schedule which releases the megaraid driver
which changed the mechanism of a probe?

Thanks,
Haruo

I haven't seen a schedule. I believe Atul (driver maintainer for LSI)
would be willing to consider patches sent to him at
[email protected] though.

Here's a patch. If someone who has access to the hardware could actually
test it it would be a nice candidate for 2.6.1..

It worked for me for both a Dell PERC4 card and an Intel SRCU42X card.

Hi Christoph, nice rewrite.

Minor comments - which is not not specific for ypur clean-up, but maybe
worth addressing now?

remove_proc_entry is an empty do {} while, so the ifdef is not needed.

Looks like a potential CONFIG option?

ifdef not needed.
