Looks like you use a Red Hat kernel, it's heavily patched, and has thus
its own set of problems. You're probably better off bugging Red Hat
instead.
Did I read correctly? it's a 2.4.20 redhat patched?
I suggest that you try out the newest vanilla 2.4 (2.4.22 at the moment)

Here is same board with 2.4GHz (no HT) P4 and with 1G ram works perfectly,
but I am running 2.4.21 & 2.4.22 (vanila kernel) did not test it with
2.4.20 but it also works ok with 2.6-test9, the only problem with 2.4.22
was that i875 was not fully recognized.
Try to put new 2.4.22.
