Subject: ACPI AC Adap. and Battery dead in presario laptops

AC Adaptor and Battery status are not showing in /proc
for presario 1700 laptops running 2.4.7 kernels.
With 2.4.6 kernels the ac adaptor was there but
battery wasn't.
