Subject: 2.6.9-rc4-mm1: undefined reference to `hpet_alloc'

Hi folks,

It seems that it is possible to set CONFIG_HPET_TIMER without
setting CONFIG_HPET:

% g HPET .config
CONFIG_HPET_TIMER=y
# CONFIG_HPET is not set

AFAIR this was reported before, but obviously the problem
is still in.

Regards

Harri

I tried to reproduce your problem in 2.6.10-rc1-mm1, but I didn't get
the link error.

Are you still able to reproduce it in 2.6.10-rc1-mm1?
If yes, please send your .config .

I can reproduce it using "make oldconfig" in the 2.6.10-rc1
source tree. Just copy my 2.6.9 .config into the source dir,
run oldconfig and accept the default for all questions.

But my .config.gz is 13 KByte compressed. I will send it in a
separate EMail to Adrian only. If anybody else is interested,
please mail.

The link fialure is gone for 2.6.10-rc1. Sorry, I should
have checked before sending a reply.
