This wil go some distance to explain a few lockups I've been having
recently. Unfortunately, I don't know what half of this means, to me it
looks like interrupt problems. My dmesg output has some more of these
(attached). config also attached. Lockups always occur during or after
intensive IO.

According to /proc/interrupts IRQ7 is not used:
CPU0
0: 75470904 XT-PIC timer
1: 160 XT-PIC i8042
2: 0 XT-PIC cascade
4: 58 XT-PIC serial
8: 2 XT-PIC rtc
11: 1590851 XT-PIC eth0
14: 198818 XT-PIC ide0
15: 486218 XT-PIC ide1
NMI: 0
LOC: 0
ERR: 3

And my logs.
