This is no longer necessary - we now supply the command type via
cmd->flags.

> +static void
> +mmc_omap_cmd_done(struct mmc_omap_host *host, struct mmc_command *cmd)

if (cmd->flags & MMC_RSP_PRESENT) {
if (cmd->flags & MMC_RSP_136) {
cmd->resp[3] =
OMAP_MMC_READ(host->base, RSP0) |
(OMAP_MMC_READ(host->base, RSP1) << 16);
cmd->resp[2] =
OMAP_MMC_READ(host->base, RSP2) |
(OMAP_MMC_READ(host->base, RSP3) << 16);
cmd->resp[1] =
OMAP_MMC_READ(host->base, RSP4) |
(OMAP_MMC_READ(host->base, RSP5) << 16);
cmd->resp[0] =
OMAP_MMC_READ(host->base, RSP6) |
(OMAP_MMC_READ(host->base, RSP7) << 16);
} else {
cmd->resp[0] =
OMAP_MMC_READ(host->base, RSP6) |
(OMAP_MMC_READ(host->base, RSP7) << 16);
}
}

would be clearer, and probably more efficient. (gcc isn't really
that good at working out bit patterns from switch statements.)

readsw / writesw would be a far more efficient implementation.

> + host->base = (void __iomem *)pdev->resource[0].start;

This is still very very very very wrong. MMIO resources do not contain
virtual addresses. Casting it to a virtual address like this is insane.

At this point the host becomes live. Is the following initialisation
safe to do after the host has been manipulated to talk to MMC cards?

Don't use set_irq_type, use request_irq with SA_TRIGGER_RISING please.

Power should be turned off by the MMC layer anyway.

IRQs will never be disabled here.

One additional comment on the patch which I missed, and has shown to
be a related cause of problems on a different host controller...

This is a hack because you got your calculation above wrong. If you
assume a fast clock, the timeout will be too slow for a slower clock.
If you do the calculation correctly and you won't need such hacks.

I thought I made a comment about readsw/writesw being more efficient
versions of these?

There's no need to print host->id - mmc_dev(host->mmc) will print the
platform device bus_id, which is generated from the platform device
name and the platform device id.

What if ioremap fails with NULL?

Some cards want at least two bits set - use MMC_VDD_32_33|MMC_VDD_33_34
here please.

Subject: Re: [RFC] mmc: add OMAP driver

Hi Russel and folks,

This patch has the following corrections:

- In function mmc_omap_probe(), some cards want at least two bits set,
so was used MMC_VDD_32_33|MMC_VDD_33_34 to set mmc->ocr_avail.
- In omap.c, there's no need to print host->id - mmc_dev(host->mmc) will
print the platform device bus_id, which is generated from the platform device
name and the platform device id. Same change for the other dev_err, dev_dbg,
dev_warn, dev_info and printk's.

It' s simple because I' m outside office and returning this weekend.
The final patch with the whole corrections I' ll send on Mon (Mar,
06).
