Subject: [BISECTED] QLogic Corp. ISP2532-based 8Gb Fibre Channel not working on 2.6.35.y

Hi,

0e:00.0 Fibre Channel [0c04]: QLogic Corp. ISP2532-based 8Gb Fibre
Channel to PCI Express HBA [1077:2532] (rev 02)

The card above doesn't work correctly on 2.6.35.12. I tried 2.6.37.y and
it works correctly there.

First the dmesg from 2.6.35.12:

Then I've generated all the patches between 2.6.35.12 and current
linux-2.6 tree and patched them incrementally. After the following
commit, the issue is fixed and all the volumes are correctly shown in
/dev tree:

So I think at least the first commit that I've mentioned should be
queued for the next 2.6.35.y to fix this issue.

Thanks for the bisection.

Can I get an ack for that from the driver or SCSI maintainer or
patch author first please?
I don't understand the driver well enough to make a call myself.

Thanks,

I'll defer to qlogic ... it looks like a driver enhancement to add FCP
prioritised queues ... but it would be a bug fix, I suppose, if the card
can't actually operate without this.
