Looking at 6.1.x, cherry-picking
88da4e8113110d5f4ebdd2f8cd0899e300cd1954 can be done without conflicts
and fixes this regression.

Successfully compiled and installed bindeb-pkgs on my computer (Acer
Aspire E15, Intel Core i3 Haswell). No noticeable regressions.
