Just a quick question: are there any systems on which realmode poweroff
doesn't work?

Yes, I once experienced a reboot on some early Via 100MHz board + AMD K6-2
400. Meanwhile I don't have the board any more, so I can't tell. BTW, I
didn't try realmode poweroff on the board I'm currently running...
