I noticed also md.c doesn't compile (gcc version 2.95.2 )

Either md.c or sysctl.h needs to include <linux/types.h>.

I tried to include <linux/types.h> in md.c and had to include
<linux/blkdev.h> also. Otherwise I got the following:
