Subject: [PATCH net-next v5 0/7] Add MACsec support for TJA11XX C45 PHYs

This is the MACsec support for TJA11XX PHYs. The MACsec block encrypts
the ethernet frames on the fly and has no buffering. This operation will
grow the frames by 32 bytes. If the frames are sent back to back, the
MACsec block will not have enough room to insert the SecTAG and the ICV
and the frames will be dropped.

To mitigate this, the PHY can parse a specific ethertype with some
padding bytes and replace them with the SecTAG and ICV. These padding
bytes might be dummy or might contain information about TX SC that must
be used to encrypt the frame.

Subject: [PATCH net-next v5 6/7] net: phy: nxp-c45-tja11xx: add MACsec statistics

Add MACsec statistics callbacks.
The statistic registers must be set to 0 if the SC/SA is
deleted to read relevant values next time when the SC/SA is used.

Changes in v5:
- none

Changes in v4:
- Added nxp_c45_macsec_read32_64 function to read 32b counters into u64
variables.
- Added nxp_c45_macsec_read64 function to read 64b counters.

Changes in v3:
- reworked the implementation around struct nxp_c45_sa
- changed the way how OutOctetsEncrypted are propagated to the userspace
- changed the way how OutOctetsProtected are propagated to the userspace
- read and clear OutOctetsProtected

Changes in v2:
- split the patch from "net: phy: nxp-c45-tja11xx: add MACsec support"

Subject: [PATCH net-next v5 5/7] net: phy: nxp-c45-tja11xx: add MACsec support

Add MACsec support.
The MACsec block has four TX SCs and four RX SCs. The driver supports up
to four SecY. Each SecY with one TX SC and one RX SC.
The RX SCs can have two keys, key A and key B, written in hardware and
enabled at the same time.
The TX SCs can have two keys written in hardware, but only one can be
active at a given time.
On TX, the SC is selected using the MAC source address. Due of this
selection mechanism, each offloaded netdev must have a unique MAC
address.
On RX, the SC is selected by SCI(found in SecTAG or calculated using MAC
SA), or using RX SC 0 as implicit.

Changes in V5:
- added nxp_c45_secy_irq_en helper to enable and disable the irqs and
replaced the irq enable/disable sequence from
nxp_c45_mdo_add_secy/nxp_c45_mdo_del_secy with it
- changed nxp_c45_tx_sc_set_flt parameters. macsec_context and secy_id
replaced with phy_device and nxp_c45_secy pointers.
- nxp_c45_mdo_dev_open/nxp_c45_mdo_dev_stop - priv is get from phydev->priv
instead of ctx->phydev->priv
- nxp_c45_sa_set_key - nxp_c45_macsec_write call uses
phydev(local variable) instead of ctx->phydev

Changes in V4:
- Added nxp_c45_secy_free.
- Added nxp_c45_macsec_en.
- Added nxp_c45_macsec_remove.
- nxp_c45_sa_set_pn does if the pn is 0. validate_upd_sa checks this.
- check ctx->sa.update_pn flag before updating next_pn.
- nxp_c45_macsec_config_init and nxp_c45_handle_macsec_interrupt are
checking priv->macsec instead of phydev->macsec_ops to check if macsec is
offloaded.
- nxp_c45_handle_macsec_interrupt - replaced WARN_ON(!sa) with
WARN_ON(1). sa is either -err_value or a valid pointer and WARN_ON was
doing nothing.
- nxp_c45_tx_sa_update does not check if (sa->an != encoding_sa).
encoding_sa removed from parameters list.
- nxp_c45_mdo_upd/del_txsa updates the sa status only if sa->an ==
encoding_sa
- nxp_c45_mdo_add_rxsc - apply RX SCI restrictions only if end_station is
true

Changes in v3:
- removed struct nxp_c45_rx_sc
- replaced struct nxp_c45_tx_sa with struct nxp_c45_sa
- reworked the implementation around struct nxp_c45_sa
- various renamings
- tried to better group the functions by SA type/SC type
- no key is stored in the driver
- TX SAs limited to 2 insted of 4(no key in the driver consequence)
- used sci_to_cpu where in various functions
- improved debug information
- nxp_c45_secy_valid function reworked
- merged TX/RX SA set key functions
- merged TX/RX SA set pn functions
- tried to stick to tx_sa/rx_sa/rx_sc/tx_sc function naming.
- nxp_c45_macsec_config_init will return an error if a write fails.
- MACSEC_TXSC_CFG_SCI renamed to MACSEC_TXSC_CFG_SCB
- return -ENOSPC if no SC/SA available in the hardware
- phydev->macsec allocated using devm_kzalloc
- changed name of the driver object file

Changes in v2:
- WARN_ON_ONCE if reg address is not properly aligned
- improved patch description

Changes in V5:
- removed unused defines MACSEC_TLV_CP and MACSEC_TLV_SC_ID_OFF

Changes in V4:
- removed macsec_extscs parameter

Changes in V3:
- extscs parameter renamed to macsec_extscs and improved description

Changes in V2:
- added extscs parameter to choose the TX SC selection mechanism between
and MAC SA based selection and TLV header based selection

Subject: [PATCH net-next v5 3/7] net: macsec: indicate next pn update when offloading

Indicate next PN update using update_pn flag in macsec_context.
Offloaded MACsec implementations does not know whether or not the
MACSEC_SA_ATTR_PN attribute was passed for an SA update and assume
that next PN should always updated, but this is not always true.

This should probably go through net so that we can fix some drivers
that are currently doing the wrong thing. octeontx2 should be
fixable. atlantic looks like it would reset the PN to whatever was
read during the last dump, and it's unclear if that can be fixed
(AFAIU set_egress_sa_record writes the whole config at once). mscc
doesn't seem to modify the PN (even if requested -- should it should
reject the update), and mlx5 doesn't allow PN update (by storing the
initial value of next_pn on SA creation).

nit: "this flag indicates" is not very useful, thus:

@update_pn: when updating the SA, update the next PN

I updated octeontx2, mssc and mlx5. Atlantic is unclear.

Mark, Igor, in the atlantic MACsec driver, can the SAs be updated
without a PN update?

Thats correct, atlantic hardware requires full table to be in data buffer registers.
I really doubt its possible to skip PN writing.

Reviewed the code and the docs I have - my view is it can not.
All the packed record in macsec_api.c:set_egress_sa_record is expected by hardware in full.

Igor

Ok. I will not touch atlantic.
