Hi all,
I have been playing with 2.5 kernel since 2.5.3[0123] has been released.
I have a laptop, it is a HP omnibook 6000.
So far, I have reported the following bugs that are still open:
http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=149
http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395
^^^^ This one is really nasty, no sound no mp3, no oggs, no tests
about interactivity.
I still have to fill another bug in bugzilla,
I described it here:
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?t=104854641000005&r=1&w=2&n=1
Is anyone using the same hardware ?
I can test patches, if needed.
Regards and ciao,
Paolo

mine is a hp omnibook 6100.

that could be related to bug #18.

works for me with compiled in maestro3 driver, could it rather be a
distribution related problem?
may I add some other bug reports for my laptop (hp omnibook 6100):
computer doesn't boot with enabled acpi:
http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=293
and:
computer doesn't shutdown with enabled apic (I thing I've heard that the
same behaviour is shown on hp omnibook 6000).

Ok. I think you have a bigger monitor and
more cpu Hz.

I don't know.
Do you have the same problem with your 6100 ?

Yes it could be.
But when I boot the machine I see strange lines:
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 0.9.0rc7 (Sat Feb 15 15:01:21
2003 UTC).
request_module: failed /sbin/modprobe -- snd-card-0. error = -16
no UART detected at 0xffff
Motu MidiTimePiece on parallel port irq: 7 ioport: 0x378

The same here, but I didn't tried with 2.5.66.

Dunno, but I can try tomorrow.
Andreas thanks for the info,

monitor should be the same, graphic card is different (radeon mob. compared
to your ati rage mob.) and I should have a newer chipset.

yes, but IMO that is a driver/hardware feature and bug #18 is about
missing synaptics features/options in the actual driver. I've glanced
through the posted spec, but havn't found any helping information (OTH
I'm not a skilled driver programmer).
