Subject: [Bluez-users] problem with Sony W600i

Hi

I am having a problem using the HCID part of the of
the bluetooth. I am using ubuntu breezy.

The issue is that I can transfer file (image, hid,
vcf) to my cellphone but when I try to use the
remoting services it connect but fails on the
passcode.

I have configured the /etc/bluetooth/pin to use a
simple pass code and it does not work (1234) :)

I tried changing the hcid.conf to use
security none;

and still it asking a passcode.

I am relatively new in using bluetooth on linux but
have played with different program hciconfig, hcidtool
and bluez-pin

Any idea what am I doing wrong or missing? Is there a
way to completely disable the security mode?

Manu

Hi

Thanks for the pointer. I read it. Now I cannot still
get the remote control working. I can upload and
download, I can sync my calendar, contact..

I still get stuck at the pin. The pin does validate
although I typed what is really configured on the
pc...

I guess I ll wait for a newer version to come..

Cedric

Thanks. I just looked at it but still cannot find my
answer.

So few more questions:

What is the difference between HCI and HID ?
Do I need to use HID with Sony Ericsson?

When running the sdptool browse I get an error message
saying the file descriptor is in bad state....? How
come I cannot see the services of my Cellphone?

Thanks

alright I got it to work. I used Multisync and IRMC
Then it started to asked me the ping out and in to do
the pairing. Then next thing I knew is that my phone
was pairing correctly with my laptop :)

Now I can use the mouse remote control and keyboard. I
just need to figure out for XMMS, mplayer,
openpresenter (althought I found link about making hid
file) and totem how to use them.
