Subject: [Bluez-users] Buetooth and SAMSUNG SGH-E340

Hi all,

I have a new phone (SAMSUNG SGH-E340) and I am trying to send photos
from the phone to my PC. I am a complete newbie to bluetooth.

My configuration:
- Debian Sid, kernel 2.6.12.
- USB dongle: D-Link DBT-122 (checked with Windows, it is working)

My phone is seen:

# hcitool scan
Scanning ...
00:12:47:AB:AF:46 SAMSUNG SGH-E340

and the phone sees the PC.

I can connect to the mobile:

# hcitool cc 00:12:47:AB:AF:46
# hcitool con
Connections:
< ACL 00:12:47:AB:AF:46 handle 6 state 1 lm MASTER

I can connect with obexftp:

# obexftp -b
Scanning ...
Using 00:12:47:AB:AF:46 SAMSUNG SGH-E340
Browsing 00:12:47:AB:AF:46 ...
Channel: 7
Nothing to do. Use --help for help.

I add Channel 7:

# sdptool add --channel=7 OPUSH
OBEX Object Push service registered

But I don't know what to do then. If I try to list the folders on the
mobile, I get:

# obexftp -b -l
Scanning ...
Using 00:12:47:AB:AF:46 SAMSUNG SGH-E340
Browsing 00:12:47:AB:AF:46 ...
Channel: 7
No custom transport
Connecting...bt: -1
failed: connect
Still trying to connect
Connecting...bt: -1
failed: connect

I must have forgotten something or done something wrong.
Any idea or pointer ?

Thanks, but I tried your file, and got the same error.

And I forgot to say that the mobile says it is paired, which is good,
and then that it can't find the services.

It would be my pleasure to do that, if my connection was working... As
soon as I get it work, I'll add it to the wiki.

Thanks anyway,

I can read Spanish, no problem about that :-)

I can pair my devices, the mobile says it is paired. Obexftp still
complains it can't connect (following the instructions given on both the
web sites).

# obexftp -b 00:12:47:AB:AF:46 -B 7 -l
Browsing 00:12:47:AB:AF:46 ...
Channel: 7
No custom transport
Connecting...bt: -1
failed: connect

I am wondering if the problem does not lie there:

# /etc/init.d/bluez-utils restart
Restarting bluez-utils: hcid sdpdsyntax error line 25
rfcomm.

and the line 25 is as follows:

vi /etc/init.d/bluez-utils
[snip]
SDPD=/usr/sbin/sdpd

I can't see a syntax error...

Thanks for your answer. I do not want to use Gnome or KDE, but I'll give
it a try on another machine. It'll be interesting anyway to see if that works.

I would have liked however to understand why it's not working in command
line.

If you can't get obexftp to work, you could try gnome-obex-send or
kde-bluetooth.

Yes:

# obexftp -b -l
Scanning ...
Using 00:12:47:AB:AF:46 SAMSUNG SGH-E340
Browsing 00:12:47:AB:AF:46 ...

Nothing happens:

# sdptool browse 00:12:47:AB:AF:46
Browsing 00:12:47:AB:AF:46 ...

There is no error:

# /etc/init.d/bluez-utils restart
Restarting bluez-utils: hidd hcid sdpd hidd rfcomm

I believe we'd better forget it for now.

Yes, I can l2ping my mobile; I tried the obexftp versions from both
unstable and testing, but they fail miserably.
Never mind, one day I'll get it work by some magic :-)
