Hi everybody,
It happened already, but the previous times I found always some "magic"
procedure to get out. This time it seems I cannot :(
I'm using almost the same configuration of Sweta (bluez-devel) with a
dongle DLink DBT120 Rev B4 and a Jabra BT250v, the OS is a Debian Sid,
and I use btsco 0.42. My error is slightly different: "Error: Failed to
connect to SDP Iserver: Permission denied"
I got the same problem several times in past, almost everytime
the kernel changed (actual is a 2.6.16-2-k7) but by deleting the
/var/lib/bluetooth/00:11:95:7D:83:E9 and restarting the bluetooth daemon
(sometimes several times in different order) I could always obtain the
headset working. This time it seems not anymore possible. I attach
herebelow some output:

I didn't change anything in my configuration, and I also many times
send in different orders "esdctl stop" and "hciconfig hci0 voice
0x0060", together with deleting the /var/lib/bluetooth/00:11:95:7D:83:E9
directory and restaring the bluetooth daemon, of course with the headset
in pairing mode. Is there anything else I may try ?

After reading some post here it came in my mind to try reinstalling
bluez-pin. I purged the Debian package and installed again and magically
it started working! 8)
The difference is that now the device is /dev/dsp2 instead of /dev/dsp1.

rfcomm didn't work. I left the charger in the office, therefore I shall
wait monday to try charging, but the headset is working with my mobile,
therefore I don't think the problem come from it.

Sometimes switching my headset (JABRA BT200) on and off didn't work. I
had to charge it for a few seconds to reset it. Sometimes there stayed
the rfcomm binding. Become root and release rfcomm0 with "rfcomm" if it
is left after the connection broke down.

the other fix is to install bluez-passkey-gnome.
has anyone filed a bug with ubuntu? bluetooth doesn't work out of the
box on edgy.

bluetooth-applet, existing in Ubuntu in the "feisty" repository. I
installed it and I was perfectly able to pair through it. Now everything

Therefore I understood that there is something wrong with bluez-pin,
even though I could not realize what. By giving:
#/usr/bin/bluez-pin out 00:07:A4:14:0F:BF"
the window comes out, I may write the pin in it and the pin is stored in
/etc/bluetooth/pin. (of course in /etc/bluetooth/hcid I have "pin_helper
