Subject: [Bluez-users] bluez utils debian package doesn't autoswith dongle on?

Hi all,

I upgraded debian bluez-utils package and now dongle when is plugged in is not
auto up?

How to set up this behaviour? I think this was previously done by default.

ii bluez-utils 3.1-3.1 Bluetooth tools and daemons

Marcel wasn't this default behaviour directly in binary?

Thanks for reply

Michal

Hmm...

It finally registered itself, but why you used D-Bus? Wouldn't CORBA better =

fit this purpose?

I have tested this on Debian Unstable, Ubuntu Dapper and Fedora Core 5
and I don't have any problems. However you need to install the D-Bus
packages and make sure the system has been started. It is also a good
idea to follow the configure options from the README file.

yes, it does. And it works for me. However I haven't tested Debian for
quite some time. Maybe the pkg-config on Debian is broken.

make sure that dbus or dbus-1 is installed and the system message is

Second problem is, that hcid doesn't start:

What is this about??? I can't find any Debian package for this...

please, make sure you have bluez-libs from CVS installed before you
try to compile bluez-utils from CVS. You can also download the latest
bluez-utils and bluez-libs tarballs for the 3.5 version that Marcel
released today. :-)

Eh sorry this should go to different thread I have created and Pavel =

But same problem with dongle autoinit with 3.4 - it doesn't go up when hid2=
hci =

is called, so I have to call it manually hciconfig hci0 up.

the bluez-utils-3.1 was not one of our best ones. The Debian guys should
go directly for the 3.4 release and once I am done with 3.5 (will be
really soon) they should package up that one instead sticking with an
old one. All previous ones are known to have some glitches here and
