Subject: [PATCH v2 0/5] Add Aspeed crypto driver for hardware acceleration

Aspeed Hash and Crypto Engine (HACE) is designed to accelerate the
throughput of hash data digest, encryption and decryption.

These patches aim to add Aspeed hash & crypto driver support.
The hash & crypto driver also pass the run-time self tests that
take place at algorithm registration.

Tested-by below configs:
- CONFIG_CRYPTO_MANAGER_DISABLE_TESTS is not set
- CONFIG_CRYPTO_MANAGER_EXTRA_TESTS=y
- CONFIG_DMA_API_DEBUG=y
- CONFIG_DMA_API_DEBUG_SG=y

Change since v1:
- Add more error handlers, including DMA memory allocate/free, DMA
map/unmap, clock enable/disable, etc.
- Fix check dma_map error for config DMA_API_DEBUG
- Fix dt-binding doc & dts node naming

+title: ASPEED HACE hash and crypto Hardware Accelerator Engines
+
+maintainers:
+ - Neal Liu <[email protected]>
+
+description: |
+ The Hash and Crypto Engine (HACE) is designed to accelerate the throughput
+ of hash data digest, encryption, and decryption. Basically, HACE can be
+ divided into two independently engines - Hash Engine and Crypto Engine.

All of the help text above (following the 'help' line) should be indented
with one tab + 2 spaces, as is done in the help text below here.

The 2 lines above should be indented with one tab instead of multiple spaces.

Direct return, as done in v1, looks fine to me. But it is mostly a
matter of test, I guess.

If "rctx->bufcnt == 0" the correspondning dma_map_single() has not been
called. Is it an issue? (the test exists in
aspeed_ahash_update_resume_sg(), so I guess it is needed)

Tab as done in the other #define?

Why not using dev_dbg() ?

This test does handle the possible negative return of dma_map_sg()

If any hash fail to register, the function exits but you will still unregister all hashes (even ones not registered) on aspeed_unregister_hace_hash_algs().

So you print an error but you keep the driver loaded even if no hashes (or a limited number of them) are registered, for which interest ?

I am not sure to understand the [0] purpose, and the comment said something about fallback, but your driver dont do any real fallback.

Your patch dont do any kpp or akcipher (and aead/skcipher also).

I guess that the new dma_alloc_coherent() just a few lines above should
also be undone in error hanfling path if aspeed_hace_register() fails?

dev_dbg() would be nice. I'll revise it.

Zero is returned for any error of dma_map_sg().

Yes. crypto/algapi.c would handle this part even if algo is not registered.
But of course we could use a variable to store which algo is registered, which is not.

Take PATCH 5/5 as consideration, aspeed_hace_register() would register both hashes & skciphers.
So even one of them failed, the driver still can be loaded.

This error handling is unmap() the above buffer (req->src), not really this buffer (req->dst).
I think it should.

I'll remove the return value (rc) since it's useless here. So no need error handling on this part.
I'll revise it in next patch, thanks.
