Subject: Free Linux Driver Development, for Linux wireless!

In case you missed it, we're now "officially" committing to help
vendors by doing driver development for free.

http://lwn.net/Articles/219791/

This has always been the case but now its just a bit more clear and we
also have some sort of program to figure out NDA issues, thanks Greg
;)

Based on this I'd like for us to take this to the next step and
outline specific steps wireless vendors can take to get their wireless
driver written and put this on linuxwireless.org (still being worked
on). Here's some procedures we might be able to start with:

* If your company is worried about NDA issues surrounding your device's
specifications, we have arranged a program with OSDL/TLF's Tech Board to
provide the legal framework where a company can interact with a member
of the kernel community in order to properly assure that all needed NDA
requirements are fulfilled. [ More details needs to be written here ]

* Write e-mail to [email protected] providing a short
description of what type of device you have. [ We may want hold their
hand a bit more here, and actually ask them for specific details we
want ]. An interested group of developers will then get back to you [
as developers discuss who may want to jump on this project on IRC or
via e-mail on the lists ] so you can start working with them.

* If test devices are supplied we can put them on Orbit testbed to
enable current and future developers to have access to enhance and
test the driver at all times.

The idea is to eventually put this on

Let me know what you think,

Luis
