Hi,

Few months ago Hante added support for 4366c0 to the brcmfmac. There
are already few devices with this chipset on the market. We even have
some related bug report at kernel:
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3D135321

Unfortunately the firmware for this chipset is still missing. Can you
build it and submit to linux-firmware.git, please?

There have been some firmware changes being made, but these need to be
validated. As the validation is in DFS area it may take some time and we
have to free up resources to actually do the validation.

Last answer I got from Arend was "Router group still working on a
solution. Will ask about status again :-(" in December.
Are there any news on 4366c1 firmware?

We need it to support e.g. Linksys EA9500 home router.
There is also report in bugzilla:
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3D135321

Hi,

I'd like to ask about the current status of 4366c firmware preparation for linux-firmware.git . Is it close to finish? What about DFS? Nothing critical, just a question.

I have prepared some firmware changes for 4366, but did not manage to
get any test-cycles for it.

Arend

Could you please estimate any possible dates for the tested FW to be released?

Not really. Linux open-source work is getting rather low prio when it
comes to claiming test lab resources. Best I can say is somewhere this year.

Hi,

This is a follow-up to these two past threads concerning the 4366c firmware:

https://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-wireless/msg159634.html
https://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-wireless/msg172063.html

I wanted to if we can still expect the firmware to be released by the
end of the year? Has it's status changed? Is it still somewhere on the
roadmap?

Thanks for all your work,
Best,
Sebastien

Hi Arend,

It seems like the year is almost over, and I guess it would be nice to reconsider the estimation (no rush, of course).
If you had a spare minute, could you please review the current status/priority for this FW?
Linux-powered consumers of 4366c would probably appreciate this information.
