1. computer freezes / harddisk led stays on after S3 resume
2. I have a script to prepare the kernel/hardware for suspension by
removing some modules, stopping some processes etc. This works for
swsusp. If I change it to request S3 sleep, and have it resume, it comes
back successfully, but the harddisk led stays on, and the kernel spews
lots of messages about not being able to access the harddisk (exact
messages are very difficult to capture, so please bear with me). Of
course this leads to a non-functioning computer ;-)

Linux doesn't currently implement the IDE resume part of the ACPI spec,
which probably has something to do with this.

Any plans?
It seems at least some people have working S3, so?

SATA had no suspend support until a few weeks ago, when Jens Axboe
started fixing it. I have no idea in which kernel version his patches
will appear, but they were on the list some days ago.

I finally found the patches and applied them (manually, patch complete
barfed ;-)). And now it miraculously works. As far as I'm concerned,
these patches are ready for inclusion ;-)
