Here's a patch series that adds interconnect support for the Qualcomm
MSM8974, which is needed so that the GPU can be supported upstream.
I didn't include the changes to arch/arm/boot/dts/qcom-msm8974.dtsi
since I have some other device tree patches coming. I'll send them
all out in a single series once rc4 comes out to avoid any merge
conflicts. Here's the necessary nodes that need to be added to that
file:

2.21.0
Add driver for the Qualcomm MSM8974 interconnect providers that support
setting system bandwidth requirements between various network-on-chip
fabrics.
Signed-off-by: Brian Masney <[email protected]>
---
Chages since v1:
- Introduce msm8974_icc_rpm_smd_send(). Ignore error if setting the
bandwidth for a single node fails to match downstream behavior. See
inline comment for more details.
- Ignore 80-character too long message for DEFINE_QNODES() to improve
code readability
- Add err_disable_clks label in probe function.
- Use msm8974_icc_ prefix for symbols
- Set the bandwidth on the source and the destination node
- Use devm_kzalloc() instead of devm_kcalloc() in probe function based
on patch that was sent on 2019-09-24: interconnect: qcom: Fix
icc_onecell_data allocation.
I mentioned in the following post that the downstream kernel does not
use SMD RPM for most of the nodes:
https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/[email protected]/
I was incorrect and this is done via msm_bus_remote_hw_commit() in that
kernel. I didn't add the QoS code since the GPU is working without it.

2.21.0
Add device tree bindings for the Qualcomm MSM8974 interconnect providers
that support setting system bandwidth requirements between various
network-on-chip fabrics.

Rob: I included in the next patch at the top a rough diagram showing the
relationship between different buses. I wanted to include that diagram
here, however I didn't since I assume that this document will be
transformed into HTML. I've seen some of the text bindings in the IIO
subsystem have nice ASCII-art diagrams, such as
Documentation/devicetree/bindings/iio/dac/dpot-dac.txt. Do you have any
suggestions for how this can go in the YAML bindings? Prefix the line
with four spaces, similiar to what is done in markdown?
Changes since v1:
- Don't include all compatibles in the examples. Removed interconnect
GPU client from example as well.
- Dual license header file: BSD or GPL 2.0

The long term plan (dream?) is to extract schema into rST and there's
been some experimenting with embedded rST into description which seems
to work. But I don't see that happening anytime soon really. We've got
3500 bindings to convert...
So put whatever you like in the description as long as it's parseable
yaml.

So presumably all that matters for paths including these endpoints is
the clk_set_rate() on the bus itself. But I prefer that we merge it like
you propose and then swing back to work out the details.
