Ave

The OOPS/BUG is fixed by 2 patches. Both patches are already included in
the linus git tree.

A patch for the separate issue to demote the superfluous kernel messages
from error to debug level is available, but not yet included in linus git.
I will track this patch and ping the author if it isn't included in one of
the final rc's.

As far as I am concerned, this bug can be removed from the regression
list.

The patch has been incorporated into Linville's wireless-testing tree and has
been pushed upstream. It should be in mainline soon.

I suspect Rafael saw your mail to lkml with a nasty looking lockdep
message in it and assumed it was a new one?

Instead it's one that always had the chance to trigger?

Great, please close the bug when it hits mainline.

Actually, Maciej did. :-)

I'll drop it from the regression list.

Yeah, its just terribly hard, you need all the various debug options
enabled and a lot of luck. There's nothing involved that changed
recently afaik.

By the looks of it, commit 483f1798 should fix it.

This continues in -rc4, although Fedora has a patch to try to fix some DMAR
errors, it doesn't seem to work for me.

Perhaps someone from Intel can comment on why this broke recently? It's not
causing me issues, just noise in logs/dmesg.

Is this with integrated or discrete graphics? Have you tried to bisect
yet?

This was with integrated graphics. But seems this is fixed in rc5 or
rc5+ because after compiling rc5 I didn't see these artifacts anymore

OK, I'm closing the bug then.

Hello Rafael/Linux devs,

You can close this bug now, regression is gone now. Both the SERR and the DMAR (coming from iwlagn)
errors are resolved.

Working in: -rc5 (Fedora rawhide 3.0-0.rc5.git0.1.fc16.x86_64)

Thanks,
Shawn.
