Do you have an _idle() callback ? This seems a no-op to me, or am I
mistaken ? (runtime_pm is still cryptic to me sometimes)

Can't you just remove power_on() if it's not needed ?

There still are a few checkpatch warnings which might be worth
considering but nothing huge.

Apart from that, all other comments I had are now resolved.
With the above _idle question clarified:

You know, it's rather hard to know all these tiny requirements. Let
alone get them right all the time.

Do you mean only the pm_runtime_idle()? Sakari just requested I add it.

It wouldn't work without CONFIG_PM then, would it?

Do you mean this?

WARNING: Block comments use * on subsequent lines
#411: FILE: drivers/media/i2c/ar0521.c:351:

... which are about a single comment which I had to wrap to fit in 80
columns, hardly a block comment by my standards. Not to mention Linus
saying...

I usually rely on what git log suggests me if in doubt.

Ok then

True that. And an #ifdef is maybe undesirable.

Although, if with idle you can power-down the chip after probe, I'm
fine with that

The warning suggests to go for

/*
* This when a comment
* spans on multiple lines
*/

instead of

/* Going for this style when
a comment is on multiple lines */

That's exactly what I meant (except that it calls it "block comment",
not multiple lines).

Some i2c driver patches tend to have these, some don't. "media" is added by
Mauro's scripts in any case.

Hi All,

Since it appears all remaining issues with the AR0521 driver have been
resolved weeks ago... is there anything I should do in order to have the
driver merged, should I rather proceed with the "staging" thing, or
maybe some other option should be used?

Hi Mauro et al,

Mauro, you are the drivers/media maintainer. Is the AR0521 driver ready
to be merged, are there still unresolved issues, or the driver is not no
be merged at all? I understand everyone's so busy but a simple yes or no
isn't too much, is it?

Hi Mauro et al,

it appears my last mail dated 6th of May hadn't reached you.

isn't too much, is it?

Perhaps we have a breakage in communications here? Are you receiving
this?

Apologies for the late reply.

Please run checkpatch.pl --strict --max-line-length=80 on the patch in the
future. Some of the output is often troublesome to address though. I've
applied it with these changes:

Why did you change this? Are now "GPL v2" tags forbidden in
drivers/media?

Thanks for looking at this, though.

It merely exists for compatibility reasons.
